Buff Tailed Bumblebee

The Buff Tailed Bumblebee (Bombus terrestris) is one of our bigger species of bumblebee in the UK and has a dark yellow bands on the thorax and abdomen. The queens of this species are distinctive, having a buff coloured tail. This bee is one of the 'Big 7', Britain's most widespread insect species.
