Great Yellow Bumblebee
The Great Yellow Bumblebee (Bombus distinguendus) is a large bee covered in sandy yellow hairs and a black band across the thorax. This species numbers have declined rapidly in the last century, by 80%, making it one of our rarest bee species. The principle cause is thought to be the loss of flower meadows rich in biodiversity.
